The BMW Charity Pro-Am is one of the most prestigious and largest golf tournaments on the Nationwide circuit of the PGA Tour. Managed and operated by South Carolina Charities, Inc., (SCCI) the tournament is the primary vehicle through which SCCI generates revenues and raises millions of dollars to provide to worthy charities throughout the state of South Carolina.

In 2006, OOBE redirected its business away from the retail sector and began to focus primarily upon the custom uniform business for select marquee brands scattered across the country. But OOBE also had a desire to continue to leverage its legacy competencies in the arenas of sportswear and performance fabrics, and management’s interests in the sport of golf spurred the company in that direction. Having a number of friends and acquaintances affiliated with SCCI and the tournament itself, OOBE approached SCCI leadership with a unique proposition. OOBE recognized the value of the charitable work that was being sponsored and made possible through the work of the tournament, and the company committed to participation in the event as a significant financial sponsor. In addition, OOBE proposed to SCCI that SCCI enter into an agreement with OOBE for OOBE to design and produce all of the tournament staff and volunteer apparel for the event. This approach would provide the BMW Charity Pro-Am a unique look all its own and would separate it from the rest of the tournaments on the tour circuit. No longer would the tournament be forced to dress its staff and volunteer work force in an off-the-shelf product that could be purchased and worn by anybody, but instead, all individuals would be dressed in a look and color scheme that would quickly become the signature look for this event.

The relationship among SCCI, the BMW Charity Pro-Am, and OOBE has been a huge success. OOBE’s contributions to the tournament have increased over the years, and the shirts, caps, outerwear, etc. that OOBE provides to the tournament have been a big hit with the wearers and the public alike. In fact, because so many of the volunteers continue their participation from year-to-year, OOBE receives a number of interrogatories leading up to the tournament from volunteers inquiring as to the styles of apparel we will be providing for the upcoming year. Everyone looks forward to the tournament… and everyone looks forward to another year wearing OOBE-branded apparel that delivers an attractive and unique look for the BMW Charity Pro-Am.
